Incorporating technology into businesses and intelligence

Topic: Incorporating technology into businesses and intelligence

I will like to take us on Incorporating technology into businesses and intelligence
Before I go into the class for today, I will like us to know that the current business landscape in the world is being disrupted by companies that are built and run by executives and entrepreneurs who not only understand how technology fits into their business, but who are also defining the role technology plays across entire industries.
For example, we have Taxify/ Uber for car services, Dropbox/ Drive for storage, Cloud for heavy data, Trello for Group projects and assignments etc....

It’s often assumed, at least within tech circles, that traditional enterprise is slow to adapt to emerging trends. That may have been true in the past, but it is becoming increasingly less so. Please I kindly indulge everyone to try and incorporate some form of technology into businesses, your career, workspaces and engagements.

After seeing smaller players maneuver quickly to take advantage of emerging trends, the enterprise is now reacting faster than ever to new technologies and finding novel ways to integrate them into their businesses. Most businesses recently either have social media pages, Websites made from Wordpress, Online presence etc. This is imperative due to the nature and emergence of technology.

There is this hilarious invention and project the Mercedes Benz Incorporation wants to put into cars by 2025.
You can start your car with just an eye recognition (retina) or the car can fully be connected to the Internet, meaning your vehicle will provide marketers with a powerful set of metric to customize their message.
Here are five tools that represent some of the most popular trends in technology, and how traditional enterprises are leveraging them into powerful business solutions:

1. Augmented Reality

If there was any question about the future of augmented reality, it should have been put to rest when Microsoft unveiled its HoloLens glasses. The company recently announced that its AR headset will be available for devlopers early next year.
I can share opportunities on GE or IBM with the Admin of this group when these companies want to train people on this...from next year though...cos they have rounded off for the year.
While the technology is still in its early phases, it’s clear that Microsoft has its sights set squarely on enterprise customers.

How to integrate: Enterprises can use AR devices like the HoloLens to show designs, collaborate remotely and see and learn new things in relation to the real world. Business ideas are better received when they’re shown, not told. Holographic computing devices present a unique opportunity to bring products and information to life.

2. Wireless Conference Rooms/ e-Conferences/ Webinars/ Group chats
Any respectable company or entrepreneur will have multiple meeting spaces where it can bring teams together to discuss strategy and progress. In the past, displaying images and video involved clunky solutions with wires, cables and connectors splayed across the meeting space.
How to integrate: Adopt a wireless solution that connects offices, employees and clients and makes sharing and collaborating easier for everyone involved, no matter their location. One such solution is Kramer, which has produced the VIA line of collaboration tools designed to take the conference room to wherever your team is.

With VIA, companies are able to wirelessly stream video and presentations across multiple conference rooms. It allows participants to easily take control of or share a screen. These unique features help take meetings beyond showing simple presentations and really allow team members to work together.

The modality for a VIA account is very easy and adapts with anh kind of device. VIA accounts for the reality of modern devices and multiple platforms, so whether the user has a PC or Mac, Android or iPhone, they can easily connect and share their screen. In a world where more and more companies are allowing employees to BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), that’s critically important. Of course, the company made sure to cater to the needs of large businesses and protects all data transmitted by encrypting it.

3. IoT in the Enterprise

the Internet of Things has produced a broad range of consumer-facing technologies. That doesn’t mean that the enterprise is being ignored.
How to integrate: The Internet of Things isn’t just designed to empower things, but to empower people. Take time-consuming tasks like data entry, for instance. As IoT evolves within the workplace, manual entry will become increasingly unnecessary, limiting mistakes and freeing up more time for employees to focus on applying that data and less time entering it.

Beyond that, connected devices will only accelerate the existing trend of employee mobility, allowing workers to be far more productive — no matter where in the world they are located.

4. 3D Printing

You’re probably thinking, “Of course 3D printing will affect the enterprise; that’s where it started.” That’s true. The technology has its roots in the enterprise, especially in the manufacturing space where rapid prototyping is critically important.
However, 3D printing has recently expanded into the consumer space, becoming popular with hardware startups and makers looking to experiment with new designs. 3D printing has even made it to the world of fashion, thanks to the dramatic cuts in costs that the new generation of 3D printers provides.
The flexibility and speed 3D printing provides cannot be overestimated. So, as a new generation of vastly more affordable printers come online, the enterprise will stand to benefit just as much as startups.
How to integrate: For enterprises, 3D printing creates a fast, easy way to build something from nothing. Take prototyping, for example. This gives businesses an opportunity to try new things — and the freedom to make mistakes — before a prototype is created.

The last of tools will be:

Wearables
Surely, this must be purely a consumer space, right? With fitness trackers and smartwatches leading the market, it doesn’t seem like there is a perfect fit at first blush. However, there are two key opportunities for enterprises. One is in the area of health; the other is in the smartwatch space.
Okay...

Thank you so much.
I hope we all gained something
Do we have questions for me☺?

The teaching was awesome, thanks Miss Amanda.

QUESTION: My question is... How can you know the right technology that fits your kind of business? Or is all that you listed above applicable to all kinds of business? Need clarity please cause I am a novice on entrepreneurship
Thank you as well.
Okay...

1. As a new start-up, you will need to first of all acquaint yourself with the technology fundamentals.
For example, synching your google calendars with to-do lists, meetings, priorities etc.

2. Networking. Yes!!!
This is also technology and part of business intelligence. You need to acquaint yourself to entrepreneurs or similar business or same silos.
For example, if you are techy person or want to begin, you can join the Andela or Microsoft community. All you need to do is just sign up.

3. Start with basic business tools or platforms that will help incorporate technology into business.
For example... Application softwares designings (if you are into UI/UX)or Peachtree Accounting SAP (for accountants) or ProPM (for entrepreneurs) etc
By integrating technology to your business, how to do tackle the barrier of technical know-how?
Great question!

Acquaintance. Knowledge sharing. (MOOC) Massive Open Online Courses

The only way to have technical know how and "hands-on" experience/ skills is to enroll into online courses, onsite programs, conferences (related to what you like), trainings, e-communities.

For example... I used to like Financial predictions and Artificial Intelligence. There was a company i went to get Enquiry on this. The fees were so horrifying.
Could not breathe for a while☺.... So I went to an MOOC platform under the USA Whitney Young Center and i enrolled for free courses...which they later recommended me to a technical company to get the final technical practice experience.

The long and short of this...is that you can learn and adapt to business technology tools online or through relevant seminars.
The challenge could be locating them
You can also sign up to Microsoft Entrepreneurship programs.
They have good tools for businesses.
Most are free...some are affordable.
They even provide technical mentoring for new start ups
You will. I know you can.
It's never late...it's good we grasp just this fundamentals now.
The world is evolving... AI and IoT are been exercised in all businesses...
By 2025, alot will done with data, analytics.
And as a business owner, you need to merge the relevant business tools to have good predictions.

Thanks God Bless.

Stress Management

Open Leadership program on Stress Management. August 2018 What is stress? By Fumni A. Stress can be defined as any pressure, demand, or threat placed on an organism (say, a human being) that causes a need to re-establish balance or “equilibrium”. The Oxford Dictionary Online adds that stress is “a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances.” The notion of stress has become a common word in our modern lexicon, but how much do most of us really know about it? Myth 1: Stress is the same for everyone. No, it isn’t. People experience life events in their own unique way. What is stressful for one person may be neutral or even anticipated by others. For example: some people hate flying, whereas others are completely relaxed, even on long-haul flights. Myth 2: Stress is always bad for you. Not necessarily. Small to moderate amounts of stress help us develop our self-discipline and resourcefulness, and some stressful events are

October Lecture

RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT By Ayodeji Samuel Akindulu Lead Strategist Beyond Int'l Lecture date: October 13, 2018. Kaduna South Topic: RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT we need to understand what relationship is and why relationship because it takes two (2) to tangle. Relationship is not just for one person  ie. Your vision is too big for only you to handle, you need people. Like i said last week on Purpose and Value Class, we are created not to be independent but interdependent also we have relationships and we have meaningful relationships. For you to have a meaningful relationship, you must discover your purpose and have a vision because you don't need everybody, you only need the people that alligns with your purpose, vision and passion. So every relationship you enter into, you need to define it for the relationship to be meaningful, individuals involved must also learn how to give off their-selfless services and die to their-self. Just like flowers,
